Don't Fake it Until You Make It!I’ve talked a lot about personal branding, establishing yourself as an expert, and how to conquer the real estate business even when you are new to the industry. However, there’s a fine line between posing as an expert and actually being one. I don’t want you to FAKE it, I want you to ACTUALLY MAKE IT. Here are some tips.

Research, Research, Research
When you’re new to an industry, whether it’s real estate or anything else, there’s always a learning curve. And no one wants to work with someone they feel is inexperienced or unknowledgeable. So you better get to work researching anything and everything that might be important to your client, like, yesterday. Pull comps and really read in to the details. How much are homes going for in their neighborhood(s) of interest? Is there a difference between styles of homes, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, square footage? Tip: Pretend you’re a mind reader and figure out what your clients might need. (more…)

Welcome to SamSpeaks!You want it? Make it happen. That’s basically my motto on life (amongst other inspirational quotes as you’ll constantly see on my instagram). And while that seems so easy to say, we all know the “wanting” is easy…but the process to make it happen…now that’s a struggle.

The concept of SamSpeaks! evolved when I reached out to a number of business people when I first got started in real estate. I wanted to learn their stories, their real, unscripted, unadulterated stories–about how they became successful. I wanted to find that magic ingredient that took them to the top. I knew I wanted to be the best, but I was a bit lost as to how to become that, and honestly, I literally wanted someone or something to hit me over the head and give me that “acceptance” that I was in fact going to be amazing at real estate and assure me that I made the right decision getting in this business.
